Storyline,
Col. William Ludlow (Anthony Hopkins) and his sons Tristan (Brad Pitt), Alfred (Aidan Quinn), and Samuel (Henry Thomas) reside in the woods in early 20th-century Montana. Eventually, Samuel's death in World War I brings grief to the unusual but close-knit family. After serving their tours of duty, Tristan and Alfred survive. However, shortly after returning home, both men fall in love with Susannah (Julia Ormond), Samuel's stunning fiancée, and their fierce competition starts to ruin the family.
info,
Edward Zwick directed the 1994 American epic Western drama film Legends of the Fall, which starred Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, Julia Ormond, and Henry Thomas. The film centers on three brothers and their father living in the early 20th-century Montanans plains and wilderness, and it is based on Jim Harrison's 1979 novella of the same name. It explores the ways that nature, history, war, and love impacted their lives. The movie takes place across nearly 50 years, starting in the early 20th century with World War I, continuing through the Prohibition era, and concluding with a short sequence that takes place in 1963. The movie received three Academy Award nominations and was awarded Best Cinematography (John Toll).[3] Given that the Ludlows are a Cornish immigrant family, there are sporadic Cornish language references in both the novel and the movie.
