Roger Waters had a crazy idea back in the ‘80s—to have the guitarist play Comfortably Numb on top of a massive wall, lifted up by an elevator. In 2011, during The Wall Live at the O2 Arena, he asked David Gilmour to recreate that legendary moment. Gilmour almost said no, but Roger personally asked him, and he agreed—and as a surprise for the audience, Gilmour showed up to play that iconic solo.
