Did you know Eddie wrote this, the holy grail of riffs, on piano?

I first heard this song in 2004 when Australian Idol was on TV. Parallel to the usual singing contest, they had another one for bad singers. It was an ironic, just for fun, spin-off kind of thing.

Randomly, this particular tone-deaf legend chose to sing Unchained, and although I knew of Van Halen, I hadn't heard this song. Even with his average singing, I could hear past it and see what a beast of a tune it was.

So I went and sought it out, and hearing the actual song done properly was a whole another experience! I spent the rest of my school holidays fanging around in my little Nissan with it blazing through the speakers.
