60's fabric for 60's inspiration. Dory made a Jiffy shift pattern from Simplicity 8253. She made view A in a size 20. It was an easy make though she had to make some adjustments. She covered the bust and lengthened the hemline by 4". This dress has a lapped zipper. She wishes she had added side pockets! The fabric was from an estate tote of fabric.
Dee made New Look 6871 a sleeveless top (View D) without the band. She made it in a size 12 and said it was very easy to make, with no other alterations needed. Her vintage fabric was from her mom's stash.
Both girls looked up their fabric on google search and found that they genuinely are from the 1960's.
