i wrote this tune thinking about my late grandfather and how dementia impacts us... the guy at the end of the video reminded me of him and his joyous smile. let's try and spend more time with our elders - perhaps by listing to in 1st place together!

the album "always; in 1st place' stands as a body of optimistic songs that have been laying in my mind for a long time, and are the first original recordings since the disbandment of ebenezer. some of these songs were ideas from the 'ebenezer era' of 2001 - 2007. i'll have videos for each of the 4 songs from this album sometime this year and then move to releasing a companion album "never" in 2025; possibly the third companion album "maybe" late in 2025.
