Overkill, one of the well-established bands of metal music, gave a concert at Zorlu Performance Arts Centre.
Meeting their fans in Istanbul with the organisation of ‘100% Metal’, the band started the concert with the songs of the same name of their new album ‘Scorched’.
With Bobby ‘Blitz’ Ellsworth on vocals, D.D. Verni on bass, Dave Linsk and Derek Tailer on guitar, and Jeramie Kling on drums, the band performed their popular songs such as ‘Rotten to the Core’, ‘Bring me the Night’, ‘Mean, Green, Killing Machine’, ‘The Surgeon’ and ‘Elimination’.
Addressing the audience, vocalist Ellsworth said, ‘It's been a long time since we last came here. We missed you very much. It's great to see our friendly Turkish fans.’
Overkill last gave a concert in Istanbul on 26 September 2019.
Founded in the US state of New Jersey in 1980 under the name ‘Lubricunts’, the band later changed its name and took its current form.
After the release of their second album ‘Taking Over’ in 1987, the band achieved success and soon became one of the most admired names in the ‘thrash metal’ genre.
The band released 20 studio albums throughout their career and sold more than 16 million albums worldwide.
