Michael Cox - It Ain't Right (1965, #Stereo #Remix)
Liverpudlian Michael Cox became a star when his four younger sisters wrote to ABC TV demanding an audition for him on TV's 'Oh Boy!' After a brace of singles for Decca (including the wonderful "Too Hot To Handle") the show's producer recommended Cox to Joe Meek.

On Meek's independent Triumph label, Cox's "Angela Jones" went Top Ten & "Along Came Caroline" were hits. Cox moved to HMV. There were no more hits, despite some good discs. The flip of his 1965 single "Gypsy" was written by Joe Meek. "It Ain't right" was one of the legendary producer's best 'beat' compositions.

Splitting retained power of the original recording. A bit of a crossover bleed was reduced, however this limited positioning options. In the end I opted for utilising some tight echo and reverb in a style that nods at the style Meek himself might have used on a stereo mix of his.
