I’ve been using text to speech as a tool to perform my voice overs since 2013. What I do is, I put in an ear bud and I let the text to speech read my copy to me out loud and then I recite it back. I do this because I’m blind and can’t “read” the words on the page like the rest of my contemporaries. Over the years, I’ve gotten Beter and Beter at this skill to the point that I no longer need to pre-read (or pre-listen) to the copy. I can just put it in a go. So, it got me thinking, could I do this while listening to a person speaking instead of a robot voice? And, how quickly could I do it. it was just something I’d been thinking about a little bit until the celebrity look-alike app told me that I looked like Tech N9ne and then it all clicked. Could I actually talk as fast as he raps? Only one way to find out. I threw in my ear bud, called up one of this songs on Apple Music and tried my best to see if I could keep up.
