I'm not sure if QRS reused the arrangement from 1907 /1908 (whenever this song came out) for this roll or if they had Confrey record a new one. Just to elaborate on that a bit, I don't know when the last time was I listened to Red Wing and then specifically the original QRS version. I'm sure I have it but once you've heard one, youve pretty much heard them all....

This roll is obviously from the 1920s or at the very earliest, 1918 / 19. My guess is mid-20s. Blue ink for the lyrics, they're printed on the right, font style, etc.

There's no artist credited on the label, but the leader has Confrey's signature on it. It will continue to reside in my Zez cabinet either way.

I hope you enjoy this fun, snappy one-step that was already becoming somewhat of an oldie by the time this roll was most likely cut.
