This might be an intermediate line. No, really, for a beginner..The drum backing ensures that the drumline supports the bassline. In a way, I sed to love when II could hear the drummer accenting parts of my line and would, in turn, do the same. Sometimes, I wound up with a drummer who played bass drum on 1 and 3, snare on 2 and 4, over and over. I hate that. I would prefer to have no drummer. Anyway, I have learned to write drumlines that accent the bass part. Not as fun as playing with a drummer who communicates, but better than playing with a sterile drummer.
