Jacob gave birth to Joseph who was a friend of Mary, the mother of Jesus called Christ. Christ was born under the following circumstances: His mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they lived together, she was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Her friend Joseph, a righteous man, did not want to denounce her, so he resolved to leave her secretly. But while he was doing this, an angel appeared to him in a dream and said: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your friend, for Mary was pregnant by the Holy Spirit; she will give birth to a son, whom he will name Jesus: for he will save his people from their sins." When he woke up, Joseph did as the Angel commanded.
