When I started writing these lyrics, I wanted to create something that wasn’t just my story, but something anyone who's ever felt lost, lonely, or struggled could connect with. As I reflected on my own experiences, I became curious about the feelings of those around me in the city. I asked my closest friends to describe New York in one sentence, or why they chose to be here. The more I asked, the more I realized there's no single answer. Yet, everyone had a reason to stay. In the City that will break your heart.
