It's absolute madness that this record is so slept on by Big Star fans. While it lacks some of the edge and depth of Big Star it also has a great deal in common with it. The overall sound, where there are many connectors, the eclectic song structures, guitar moves and tones, harmonies...etc etc. Not surprising as It was also produced by Terry Manning (who also plays lead guitar) and is on Ardent Records...even the cover was designed by Carole Manning! I thought all the recent kerfuffle about Big Star might rub off a little of these guys....Sadly not.
