The Second Coming – I Feel Free …1968
The Second Coming was a short lived band from Florida that included two future members of The Allman Brothers Band, Dickie Betts and Berry Oakley. Other band members at various times were Reese Wynans (future Hammond B3 player for Stevie Ray Vaughn), Dale Betts (wife of Dickie Betts), John Meeks, Larry Reinhardt, Richard Price. The Second coming released only one single “I Feel Free/She Has Funny Cars” in 1968. Both songs on their single are covers, “I Feel Free” was written by Pete Brown & Jack Bruce, and was originally released by Jack Bruce’s band, Cream, in 1966 while the B-side of The Second Coming’s 45, “She Has Funny Cars”, was written by Marty Balin & Jorma Kaukonen which was first released by their band Jefferson Airplane on their first Lp Surrealistic Pillow in February of 1967.
