According to Lars Ulrich, Metallica wanted to try something new with THE UNFORGIVEN. Instead of a heavy chorus and low key verse, they flipped the script and kept the chorus soft. Judging from the song's popularity and their track Nothing Else Matters, maybe Metallica should have been a soft rock band? Today we'll be studying a live performance of THE UNFORGIVEN recorded in Saudi Arabia of all places, to see what makes it great muhahaha
