Why Matt Sharp Left Weezer

Preceding the release of the Blue album and hits like Buddy Holly and Say it Ain’t So, Weezer's founding lineup consisted of Rivers Cuomo, Jason Cropper, Pat Wilson, and Matt Sharp. But by the band's third album in 2001, half these would be absent. Most notably, bassist Matt Sharp being replaced by Mikey Welsh. And in terms of an official explanation, fans have been forced to hear "creative differences" for nearly 30 years. This is my explanation.
